Zangeneh MM, Tahvilian R, Zangeneh A, Moradi R, Najafi F, Haghnazari L., Effect of Alhagi maurorum oil on anxiety markers in Balb/C male mice, Onl J Vet Res., 21(3):115-117, 2017.  Effect of Alhagi maurorum oil on anxiety markers in 24 Balb/C male mice is described. A hypo-neophagic test of time taken to start feeding, and number of stools was performed to assess anxiety. Groups of 6 mice each were fed once with 200, 400 or 600 mg/kg Alhagi maurorum oil per os. Controls were given saline. Mice roamed freely for 120 seconds at days 15, 20 and 25 after treatment and the time spent until mice began to eat food and number of stools was measured. Results suggest that mice given the oil found food faster and defecated less than controls, but should be viewed with caution, as placebo oil controls were not evaluated.
