Effect of Aloe vera on immunological and hematology markers in Huso huso fish.

ABSTRACT

 

Khatirnamani M, Gholipourkanani H, Jafaryan H, Ebrahimi P., Effect of Aloe vera on immunological and hematology markers in Huso huso fish, Onl J Vet Res., 27 (6): 378-385, 2023. The effect of single Aleo vera extract 100 and 200mg/kg intraperitoneal injection in Huso huso fish on immunological and hematological markers over 21 days are described. Compared with controls, Aloe vera enhanced (P < 0.05) serum lysozyme ~31-35%, complement ~30-66%, hemoglobin ~52-90%, hematocrit ~27-37%, white cells ~26-32%, corpuscles ~31-35%, cell hemoglobin ~12-80%. However neutrophils declined (P < 0.05) ~52-55% and monocytes ~46% but lymphocytes increased ~29%. Results suggest intraperitoneal Aloe vera may boost immune and hematological responses in Huso  Huso fish.
