 Case report: Anasarca in fetus of a Bakhtiari sheep.

ABSTRACT

 

Banan Khojasteh SM., Case Report: Anasarca in fetus of a Bakhtiari sheep, Onl J Vet Res., 7 (5): 256-260, 2013. A case of an abnormal 3.7Kg female fetus from a Lori Bakhtiari sheep with a 365 mm crown rump length ratio found at slaughter is herein reported. The fetus was malformed, edematous, and fragile with a deformed head and limbs. Necropsy findings were a thickened skin, gelatinous and soft consistency of subcutaneous tissue, 150 ml serous fluid in thoracic and 280 ml abdominal cavities, a thickened pericardium and increased adipose tissue surrounding the kidneys. Under microscopic examination internal organs appeared normal. The case was diagnosed as one of fetal anasarca.
