ABSTRACT

Nasri A, Gheisari HR, Aslani JR., ATP levels in rainbow trout refrigerated muscle farmed in different locations, Onl J Vet Res., 20(1):1-6, 2016. The breakdown rate of ATP of anterior dorsal muscle of 250-300g rainbow trout from 3 locations (30 samples from each farm) was determined at days 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, storage in ice. There were significant differences in ATP concentration in trout muscle between locations (P<0.009) and in one location ATP breakdown was faster (P <0.05) than in other farms. The differences may be due to capture stress and water source microbial flora affecting ATP breakdown.

Key-Words: Trout, ATP, Location.
