ABSTRACT
Rezakhani A, Goodarzi M, Zarifi M, Orangi H., Electrocardiography
from base apex lead of 368 horses, Onl J Vet Res, 30 (6):362-367, 2026. We recorded electrocardiograms (ECG)
from 368 horses of both sexes and varying ages from base apex lead bipolar limb
lead I. Any concominant
heart diseases were excluded by examination.
Mean heart rate was 39.4 ± 0.4; the heart rate of female was higher
than males and the heart rate of less than 3 years old was higher than those
older than 6 years. The P wave was positive in all horses. Direction of the
main section of the QRS complex was negative and mainly biphasic. The T wave
direction was variable. The amplitudes of P was 0.251 ± 0.005, R 0.337 ± 0.015;
S 2.231 ± 0.034;, T (+)+0.293 ± 0.012; and T (-) was -0.613 ± 0.021. Duration (s) of P was 0.128 ± 0.001;, P-R 0.321
± 0.003; QRS 0.102 ± 0.001;, Q-T 0.477 ± 0.003 and T 0.121 ± 0.001.
