ABSTRACT
Rajagopal R, Krishnan Nair G, Mini M, Leo Joseph.,
Pasteurella multocida biofilm
grown on soya broth and bentonite. Onl J Vet Res., 30 (9): 520-530, 2026. The organism
adhered to bentonite with an average peak count of 1.54 × 106 CFU g-1
of BC, 3 days after inoculation, whilst planktonic cells reached a peak count of
8.10 × 108 CFU mL-1, 1 day post inoculation. The biofilm
colony on agar medium appeared discernably different from planktonic colonies,
though it reversed on subsequent subcultures. Biofilm cells appeared extremely
capsulated.
KEY WORDS : Biofilm, Pasteurella multocida, bentonite clay, capsular polysaccharide, Maneval staining, phenol sulphuric
acid method.
