ABSTRACT
Ghazani HHM, Karim G, Effect of sodium
hypochlorite and iodophors on Escherichia coli biofilm.
Onl J Vet Res, 30 (8): 481-488, 2026. We
report formation of Escherichia coli O111 biofilm in contact with milk treated
with sodium hypochlorite and iodophors. E. coli
O111 formed biofilm on the rubber surfaces in the presence of milk to a density
of 9.10 ± 0.15 log cfu/cm2. Exposing these
biofilms to either sodium hypochlorite or iodophor sanitizers, reduced 1-2 log cfu/cm2
in viable E.coli O111.
Keywords: Biofilm, Escherichia coli, Sanitizers,
Hypochlorite, Iodophor, Rubber.
