ABSTRACT

Deshpande PS, Page AB., Effect of Mormordica dioica on neurotoxicity induced cognitive impairment in mice, Onl J Vet Res., 28 (1): 32-36, 2024. The effect of oral phenytoin (25mg/kg) on mice cognition was evaluated by passive avoidance test. A significant (P<0.001), improvement in cognitive status of mice was observed when the drug was administered with a methanolic extract of Momordica dioica. However the extract had no effect on MES. The extract of Momordica dioica reduced the effective dose (12.5mg/kg) and subsided phenytoin induced cognitive impairment in mice.

Key Words: Phenytoin, M indica, neurotoxicity, cognition, mice.
