ABSTRACT

Farshgar R, RahimiM, Nooriyan Soroor ME., Plasma copper and zinc in Ross broilers with respiratory colisepticemia, Onl J Vet Res., 19(10): 642-646, 2015.                Blood samples were collected from 60 birds with colisepticaemia and 60 normal controls from 6 flocks of Ross 308© broiler chickens. Colisepticemia was confirmed by isolation and identification of Escherichia coli and flame spectrophotometry was used to determine plasma copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn). Data was analyzed by ANOVA and linear models. There was no significant difference in plasma Cu or Cu/Zn ratios, but Zn levels in birds with colisepticaemia were significantly higher compared with controls.

KEY WORDS: Broiler chicken, Colisepticemia, Copper, Zinc.
