Efficient vaccine production requires growth of large quantities of virus produced with high yield from a safe host system. A suspension cell culture of Theileria annulata-infected lymphoblastoid (TIL) was used as a host cell for fowlpox virus. Adaptation and proliferation of purified virus was carried out on the cell line and TCID50 was calculated. Results suggested that this cell line could be tested as an alternative to eggs in fowlpox vaccine production
