5:19-26, 2001. Groups of 2 week old chicks were vaccinated
subcutaneously with oil, vitamin A and vitamin E adjuvanted
live infectious bursal disease (IBD) vaccines. IBD live-in-oil vaccine, vitamin
A and E adjuvanted IBD live-in-oil vaccine and IBD
live vaccine adjuvanted with vitamin A and E
(injected adjacent to live vaccine), decreased mortality and enhanced antibody
levels compared with IBD live vaccine alone; vitamin A and E may stimulate the
interaction between immuno-competent cells at the site of inoculation.
