ABSTRACT

Shree T, Banerjee S, Srivastava S., Microarray informatics and virtual screening of acute myeloid leukemia target., Online J Bioinform., 13(2):214-213, 2012. Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML),  is a fast growing malignant disease, more common in males than in females.  Immature, useless white blood cells accumulate rapidly in the marrow and blood. We report potential therapeutic targets by combining microarray informatics and computational network biology. A list of differentially expressed genes was derived from analyzing AML vs normal microarray data. A network of all significantly expressed genes was built and analyzed through Pathway enrichment of the nodes. On analyzing the nodes belonging to cancer pathways, FGFR1 (fibroblast growth factor receptor 1) was identified as a potential target. Camptothecin analogs were identified as promising Leads for FGFR1 using structure based virtual screening and ADMET prediction.
