Effect of

ABSTRACT

stress, Onl J Vet Res., 19(9): 579-587, 2015. Effects of feed
supplemented Pennyroyal essential oil Mentha pulegium L (PE) and copper sulfate (Cu) on performance,
egg quality and blood parameters of 120 Lohmann
laying hens reared at ~6.8°C and ~64% relative humidity are
described. Feed intake, feed conversion ratio, egg weight, production and mass
were evaluated for 56-days after which, the birds were bled and weighted.
Results were compared with non-supplemented controls. In hens given Cu, egg
production, mass and shell thickness increased (P < 0.05) but egg weight,
feed intake and feed conversion ratio decreased (P<0.05). In those given PE
egg production and egg mass increased (P<0.05).
