in Ross 308 broilers chicks, Onl J Vet Res., 29 (6): 337-345, 2025. Grape pomace supplement
in broiler diets could provide a sustainable and cost-effective method to boost
production. Author reports effects of raisin pomace powder (RPP) on broiler
growth, hematology and serum biochemistry. Three groups of 45 day old Ross
chicks were fed basal diet supplemented 10, 20 and 30g/Kg feed RPP daily for 35
days. Controls (n=45) were fed basal diet. Compared with controls, we found no
difference in live body weight, weight gain or feed intakes. However, total
feed conversion ratio declined in those fed 10g/kg feed RRP. Hematological and
serum biochemical analyses indicated no significant differences in packed cell
volume, hemoglobin, red and white blood cell counts, total protein, and
globulin levels. Notably, birds given 30g/kg RRP had reduced serum albumin, and
20g/kg reduced cholesterol by day 35. Relative weight and index of the bursa of
Fabricius were not affected.
