ABSTRACT
Abbaszade M, Selk Ghaffari M, Dezfoulian O, Aledavood SJ and Jahanzad I. Amyloidosis and rupture of liver in cat with bowel disease. Onl J Vet Res, 30 (7): 427-434, 2026. A 7-year-old cross-bred cat treated with metronidazole
for chronic diarrhea, died 10 days later. Onset of signs were
frequent diarrhea, vomiting and weight loss. At necropsy abdominal cavity was
filled with bloody fluid and clots. By microscopy, in liver we observed
pink-reddish parenchyma of liver and sinusoids. In small intestine we found lamina
propria of small intestine infiltrated by large mononuclear
inflammatory cells of lymphocytes and plasma cells. By
immunohistochemistry we observed Amyloid A in
hepatocytes and spaces of disse in liver and
cytoplasm of renal tubules negative for both kappa and lambda chain antibodies.
