Radiography and arthrography of distal sesamoid bursa and  interphalangeal joints in cattle.

ABSTRACT

 

Meimandi PA, Gandomani JM, Bagheri MH, Radiography and arthrography of distal sesamoid bursa and  interphalangeal joints in cattle, Onl J Vet Res, 30 (2): 78-87, 2026. TWE obtained 20 distal hind limbs and 8 distal forelimbs at abattoir from healthy Holstein cows without lameness. We used 2 groups for 10 distal hind limbs and 4 distal forelimbs each. Contrast radiography and tomography to determine communication between distal sesamoid bursa and interphalangeal joint spaces. Imaging suggested absence of contrast medium in distal sesamoid bursa so there was no communication from distal sesamoid bursa to interphalangeal joint in cattle.
