ABSTRACT

Katsoulos PD, Christodoulopoulos G, Minas A, Leontaris V, Theodoropoulos G., Severe fasciolosis in a suckler beef cow, On J Vet Res 13 (1):126-129, 2009. A case of severe fasciolasis in a suckler beef cow is described. The 4 years old cow was admitted into clinics because of depression and reduced appetite for 10 days. The main clinical findings were fever, jaundice and reduced reticulorumen contractions. The final diagnosis of fasciolosis was based biochemical, haematological, and faecal parasitological examinations. The cow was successfully treated with albendazole and supportive therapy. The administration of albendazole was suggested for the rest of the animals in the herd.
