ABSTRACT

epididymis ligation for teaser ram preparation, Onl J Vet Res., 20(5):319-326, 2016. Minimally invasive pin hole
epididymis ligation is now performed for teaser ram preparation. Authors
perform the surgery and use ultrasonography scanning to improve visualization
of testicular structure during ligation. Ten cadaveric testicles were used in a
pilot study and 5 healthy mature rams for live ligation. In 7 testicles,
ligations were placed around the body of the epididymis and in 2 around the
tail of epididymis. Analysis of semen confirmed ligation by sterility in all
rams. Results suggest the technique was improved by ultrasonographic
visualization. Images of technique and sêmen data are provided.
