ABSTRACT

Baghshani H, Shahsavani D., Tissue rhodanese enzyme in trout and mullet. Onl J Vet Res, 30 (4): 214-213, 2026. The enzyme rhodanese in prokaryotes and eukaryotes physiological plays a central role in cyanide detoxification. We  report tissue distribution of rhodanese in rainbow trout , kutum and golden grey mullet. We found  0.017–0.122 units/mg rhodanese protein in trout,, 0.049–0.219 in kutum and 0.062–0.258 in mullet. Highest levels were found in liver and kidney. Levels in intestine and gill were higher than brain, heart and muscle in all species.
